11. Any special effort undertaken by the institute for overall development of the students :

Seminars, visits to printing presses & photo studios and other industry institute interaction activities are regularly arranged for benefit of the students. Cultural functions, indoor sports, blood donation camps are also arranged by students. Institute has no play ground (no space left in the campus). Outdoor sports are arranged subject to the availability of ground of Jadavpur University / other source.

12. Strength of the institute :

a) The oldest institute in eastern India offering courses in the field of graphic arts, printing and photography - all of which are of non conventional in nature. Caters to the need of entire eastern region.

b) Good Interactions with the industry. Alumni of the institute are the leaders of the industry.

c) Being regional in nature, students have the opportunity for share of culture etc. The institute represents a mini India.

d) Good placement over past few years. The institute is well known to the industry people.

e) One of the 50 institute in India (12 in the eastern region and 3 in the State of West Bengal) selected by Expert group of GOI for PWD (persons with disability) scheme. Also runs CP (Community Polytechnic Cell).
